The INESG was founded in 1985 with the objective of promoting Algerian capabilities for the analysis of international and strategic questions and for the development of studies and reports for policy makers. INESG develops research programmes focusing on several issues that affect the country and the world, such as international relations, defense politics, internal security, among others. The institute also endeavours to favour the interchanges between institutes that promote the same kind of research.
Areas of work
Objective of the Euromed / Middle East programme
Analysis of the repercussions of the euro-mediterranean partnership on peace and security in the euro-mediterranean area; proposals to reinforce the euro-mediterranean partnership; impact of the association agreements on the national economy; roles and influence of extra-mediterranean powers in the Mediterranean.
